An improved version of width restricted resolution

چکیده
A new form of width restricted resolution, called \CUBI resolution" (\closure under bounded input resolution") is presented. CUBI resolution allows to eliminate the dependence on the maximal input clause length in the general lower bound for resolution from Ben-Sasson, Wigderson 99], and also the poly-time decidability problem about \k-resolution" ((Kleine B uning 93]) is bypassed (by slightly strengthening the calculus). Generalizing the well-known equivalence of the refutation power of Unit resolution and input resolution, CUBI resolution simulates \nested input resolution." 1 Introduction 1.1 Two forms of width restricted resolution Lower bounds for resolution complexity via width lower bounds 1975 Galil introduced bounded resolution in 9], using only clauses of bounded size, and he showed that certain Tseitin-type formulas in 3-CNF require very long clauses in any (full) resolution refutation, expressing hope, that this result might be useful for a super-polynomial lower bound for (full) resolution.

Optimization of an ultra-high-resolution rectangular pixelated parallel-hole collimator with a CZT pixelated semiconductor detector for HiRe-SPECT system
Introduction: In nuclear medicine, the use of a pixelated semiconductor detector such as CZT is an of growing interest for introducing new devices. Especially, the spatial resolution can be improved by using a pixelated parallel-hole collimator with equal holes and pixel sizes based on the pixelated detector. The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of pixelated and ...
متن کاملAdaptive beamforming in row-column addressed arrays for 3D ultrasound imaging
In recent years, to reduce the complexity of implementation, the use of 2D arrays with restricted row-column addressing has been considered for 3D ultrasound imaging. In this paper, two methods of adaptive beamforming based on the minimum variance method are represented in such a way that the computational load is much less than using the full adaptive beamforming method. In both proposed metho...
متن کاملFeasibility Study of Real-time and Automated Monitoring of Iranian Rivers using 50-kHz Fluvial Acoustic Tomography System
Acoustic Tomography (AT) technique is an innovative method for real-time river monitoring. In this study, not only the accuracy of flow velocity measurement using 50 kHz AT system which is appropriate for narrow rivers (most Iranian rivers) is evaluated, but also its performance is compared with 30 kHz one which is used in wide rivers. The comparison results showed that the velocity resolutions...
متن کاملHIGH RESOLUTION LASER SPECTROSCOPY IN COLD SUPERSONIC MOLECULAR BEAMS COOLING, REDUCTION OF DOPPLER WIDTH AND APPLICATION
The cooling of molecules during the adiabatic expansion of supersonic seeded molecular beams is reviewed and illustrated by the example of NO -molecules. The reduction of the Doppler width by collimation of the beam and the cooling to low rotational temperatures brings a significant simplification of the complex NO -absorption spectrum and allows its assignment. The measured rotational tem...
متن کاملLower Bounds for Width-Restricted Clause Learning on Small Width Formulas
It has been observed empirically that clause learning does not significantly improve the performance of a SAT solver when restricted to learning clauses of small width only. This experience is supported by lower bound theorems. It is shown that lower bounds on the runtime of width-restricted clause learning follow from resolution width lower bounds. This yields the first lower bounds on width-r...
